My Time Counselling

Document Actions

A cross culturally and faith sensitive counselling model-

Counselling is a process that enables you to talk about your problems or difficulties in your life in a safe environment. Counsellors help you, through talking, to manage your life better by changing the way you respond to difficulties.

My Time administers a register of qualified and experienced counsellors based in the West Midlands. My Time can locate an appropriate, culturally sensitive counsellor who will be able to help you with your specialised needs.

A My Time Counsellor will help you to tell your history and to explore how you feel about your situation. This will enable you to understand yourself and your life better. You may then choose to take action to make changes in your life.

My Time has drawn up a register of counsellors from across the West Midlands. There are currently thirty-five counsellors listed, including twenty members of the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapists (BACP). My Time is an organisational member of the BACP.

Last year My Time was awarded by the British Associsation of Counselling Psychotherapy for Innovation in Couselling and Psychotherapy.

Why?

My Time has worked painfully for the past six years to develop a counselling and support service which can cater for people’s personal needs and differences by focusing on boosting confidence through social inclusion and group interaction. We do believe as an organisation that alienation is partly responsible for the present rise in mental distress. We look carefully at everyone’s personal needs and design the therapy around them. Everyone is unique and different, but we also share commonalities. Statistically in the UK many of us are depressed. This we share resolutely. Why we are differs from place to place, from community to community. But working closely with counsellors sourced from local communities, we try to actively raise an individual out of depression whatever their disposition.
