Fair Cities Outreach Courses and Post Course Support Research

January 2007 – March 2008

How much time do you give yourself? This course is designed to give people the chance to explore their ideas and goals in a safe environment. The course will enable you to learn how to set goals, how to create an action plan for your future, how to recognise your current skills and how these may transfer in the workplace. You will create a C.V. and learn interview techniques. My Time has access to the Fair Cities jobs database and you can access information about the latest job opportunities in many different sector areas.

 

Attending a Fair Cities course will enable you to work towards achieving a My Time Certificate in Developing Skills in Gaining Employment.

Mental Health-male aslyum seekers with Lancashire University 

 

In colloboration with Lancashire University and the Department of Health , My Time will be collecting research into the Mental Health of Asylum Seeking men. Eight volunteers have been trained in research skills in order to interview a hundred men originating from over 30 countries. Research will be made available in Feb/Mar 08

 

A colloborative project between the West Midlands Police and My Time exploring the psychological effects of Stalking

 

The My Time team has recently visited Bremen, Germany, attending a symposium in domestic violence and obsessive behaviour. It is a joint venture with WM police, as part of a EU funded project exploring psychological behaviour of stalking on both the perpetrators and their victims. The primary aim is to develop tool kits for training police officers. My Time will be participating in the Third Symposium in 2008. The Eu partners include Italy, Sweden, and Germany.
