ASIRT (Asylum Seeker Immigration Resource Team)

ASIRT provide relief for asylum-seekers, refugees and their dependants in Birmingham who are in condition of need, hardship and distress.

They offer general legal advice and assistance to persons subject to UK immigration control and their dependants, who by reason of their inadequate financial resources are otherwise unable to obtain such advice and assistance.

They help advance the education of local people and the education and training of asylum-seekers and refugees and their dependants in order to assist with their inclusion into the wider community.

Adjust the Balance

Adjust the Balance works with employers to raise awareness of the needs of individuals, to promote flexible working practices and build in current employment legislation to promote best practice and highlight the business case for employers

Fair Cities Birmingham

Fair Cities is a ground-breaking initiative, designed by the National Employment Panel, to help disadvantaged ethnic minorities get, stay and advance in work. Fair Cities is also about systemic reform - engaging employers to improve the performance of the employment and skills system.

Jericho Community Business

The Jericho Community Business is an organisation, which provides every possible assistance to people who encounter significant barriers while looking for suitable employment.

Jericho aims to break down these barriers, which could be caused through financial pressures, lack of education, low social status, inadequate housing or homelessness or poor health and then to help those disadvantaged by offering a variety of paid work experience, training and the means to finding a full time job.

Aspire


ASPIRE (Asylum Seekers Pursuing Integration, Refuge and Empowerment) is a Development Partnership (DP) covering Birmingham and Solihull which aims to develop innovative solutions for supporting asylum seekers and organisations working with them while they await a decision from the Home Office.

UCE Birmingham Business School: Research and Consultancy


The Management and Enterprise Development Centre (MEDC) administers all of the research and commercial services work of the Business School.

It undertakes research of a value of over £0.5 million pounds a year for the EU and UK government, industry and commerce.

National Children's Home (NCH)

NCH one of the UK's leading children's charities, helping children achieve their full potential. Through our services we support some of the UK's most vulnerable and excluded children and young people.

NCH was founded in 1869 and known for many years as the National Children’s Home. We are now known as NCH, the children’s charity.

East Birmingham Community Forum Ltd

EBCF is a not for profit company limited by guarantee established in 1992. It is a local umbrella organisation that undertakes economic and social regeneration initiatives in partnership with other agencies to address poverty and disadvantage in the area. Clients include local community voluntary organisations and the diverse multicultural community we serve via our one-stop-shop community resource centre.
