Research & Policy
My Time has been involved in numerous community research studies and European Wide Initatives which have informed the design and delivery of our programmes and services. We believe passionately that to deliver an effective person centred service, we must first have an evidence base that underpins our approach. My Time believes in taking a participatory approach to research, involving citizens in every stage of the research process.
Our action research studies include-
Supporting the emotional needs of Carers- Birmingham City Council action research study exploring the mental health needs of those caring for vulnerable adults (2009-10)
Planting the Seeds of Hope- Mental Health Needs of Asylum Seekers and Refugees- University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) National Community Engagement Programme-(2007-08)
Background is Foreground- a study and anaylsis of non-engagement into learning by women of Pakistani, Somali, and Pushto background in East Birmingham (2006-07)- Learning Skills Council Engage Programme
Recognising Trauma- A training kit for Frontline workers supporting asylum seekers and refugees experiencing Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder- Aspire (Asylum Seeker support programme funded by Birmingham City Council and European Social Fund (2007)
Stalking and Domestic Violence Prevention Kit- A European wide Initiative to share information between statutory and community services to help tackle stalking and domestic violence particularly amongst male perpetrators (2007-08)
My Time- Widening and increasing participation of hard-to-reach learners through provision at the interface of education and primary health care- Readings in post-compulsory education (2005-06)
