Family counselling service
In partnership with the Institute of Families and Parenting, My Time provides a culturally sensitive Family counselling service for families experiencing mental health related issues. The service is available to families living across Birmingham and can only be accessed through specific referral routes.
With the support of the Parenting Fund, My Time established the FACT programme (Family Action for Choice Tomorrow) aims to-
- Promote active and positive fatherhood, with particular emphasis on engaging fathers in their children’s learning and development
- Promote inclusion and equality by enabling the take up existing services by disadvantaged, vulnerable, hard to reach well served communities
FACT aims to support families with multiple and dysfunctional risk issues where fathers display negative behaviour/thoughts and there are early signs of domestic violence or mental health problem
The FACT programme will provide the following services-
- Culturally sensitive and multilingual Face-to-Face Counselling
- Information, Advice and Guidance
- Sports Coaching
- Horticultural therapy
- Routes to Skills, training and employment
- Self esteem and confidence building courses
